It was a Sunday afternoon when my work phone rang. It was a rather frantic call from a plant manager. A mold move shipment shipping to Canada was delayed. The driver delivering the mold called our plant and indicated he did not have the proper customs paperwork to cross the border into Canada.
The plant manager called me asking if I could help. I asked him to send me the paperwork, was able to review it and send to our local customs broker who was able to load it in their system and advise the border agent to release the driver. The total time of resolution was 30 minutes. The plant manager called me after to tell me how relieved he was that I could assist and said, “you are a blessing in disguise”.
Every day we have an opportunity to be someone’s blessing – Jer 17:7-8
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
The blessing of God isn’t things. The blessing of God will produce things, but the blessing isn’t things.
Galatians 3:14 says, “That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”
Abraham’s blessing has come upon us through faith in Christ, and the blessing isn’t the things that Abraham possessed, it was the favor of God that was spoken over him, which produced his physical and spiritual abundance.
That’s what the blessing of God is; it’s His divine spoken favor. And that blessing, if mixed with faith, will produce abundance in spirit, soul, and body.
Our Father gets pleasure out of blessing you (Psalm 35:27 NKJV)
But the way to blessing isn’t in trying to meet your needs. It’s in meeting the needs of others.
Matthew 6:33 says,
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Every day is a blessing, cheers for a great month of blessings.
