Our family loves our Scottish and Irish traditions. Cooking specific dishes that have been handed down from generation to generations is one of our favorite things to do.
As Believers, we are part of the highest family. The family of Jesus! We have the same right and authority to use that Name, as Peter did in Acts 3:6 – Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you….”
When we accepted Christ, our name changed. It was no longer the same as it was before we were born again. We give our old name away when we make a covenant with Jesus.
When we entered a covenant of blood, we gave away our self completely. We are no longer our own. When you’re in blood covenant with someone, that person’s name becomes your name forever.
When you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, He took your name and all the sin, weakness, sickness, poverty, lack, fear and every other evil thing inherited from Adam.
Jesus took those names from you and gave you His own in exchange – Hallelujah! Ephesians 3:15 says “the whole Body of Christ has been named after Him both in heaven and earth”. That means you have been given Jesus’ Name. Its authority is now yours!
You are named after: “Jesus, King of Kings, Counselor, Creator, Deliverer, Jehovah, Wisdom, The Life, Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Word of Life, Advocate, Provider, The Great I Am, Helper, Savior, Prince of Peace, Lamb of God, Lord of Hosts, Faithful Witness, Glory of the Lord, Governor, Heir of All Things, Root of David, Author and Finisher of Our Faith, The Way, Healer, Son of God, The Truth, Chief Cornerstone, Light of the World, Chief Shepherd, My Strength and Song, Righteous Judge, Son of Righteousness, Resurrection and Life, First and Last, The Alpha and Omega.”
Every name given to you by our Father covers any need you will ever have – Isn’t that Amazing! The power of God is in His Name to bring that Name to pass in your life (Acts 3:16).
Jesus welcomes us in, when we are thirsty he gives us living water, when we are tired he gives us strength and encouragement. In Him we can do all things and in Him we LIVE!
Prayer – Ephesians 3:14-21:
14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family[a] in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
