Do you trust your gut? Your head? Your heart?
When someone is at a loss for a decision, they may say “I trusted my gut”, or “I went with my instinct”.
As believers, we have been given a source of comfort and help that never leaves us and that can help us overcome any difficulty we may face. That source of comfort is the Holy Spirit.
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever John 14:16
Think about it. In any situation, we do not need to experience trouble. We have Holy Spirit to help us with decisions and to control any thought that is counter to the Word of God. We don’t need to let our circumstances, feelings or emotions take control. The comfort we receive in our spirits can flow to our minds and bodies if we are committed to access Holy Spirit.
Jesus Himself did not manifest the power of God until he had been baptized in the Holy Spirit, saying:
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him Matthew 3:16
The Holy Spirit is our power source, and it is through Him that we see miracles, healings, jobs, success, decisions.
Looking to the Holy Spirit is our gut check.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall [a]direct your paths.
