When life gives you lemons, make lemonade is a proverbial phrase used to encourage optimism and a positive can-do attitude in the face of adversity or misfortune. Lemons suggest sourness or difficulty in life and making lemonade is turning them into something positive or desirable.
Proverbs 3:11-20
All things are God possible. God created the entire universe out of nothing. “By wisdom the Lord laid the earth’s foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place; by his knowledge the deeps were divided and the coulds let drop the dew. Jesus is our wisdom. When we are in relationship with Jesus life makes sense. We do not need to worry or be concerned with lemons or the sourness of life.
With Jesus as the source of all wisdom nothing you desire can compare to this.
What is impossible in human terms is possible with God. If you are facing a seemingly impossible situation: health, financial, relationship, work, look to God who is our hope. His power makes all things possible. The context of Jesus’ words that “with God all things are possible” (v 26) is the account of the rich young man whom Jesus calls, “Come, follow me” (v 21b). He tells him, “Go, sell your possessions and give to the poor’ (v21a). But it is too much for him to give up and the young man goes away “sad” (v22). Jesus points out how hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of heaven (vv 23-24). Yet, with God “all things are possible” (v26).
Worldly riches are of no help. In fact, they are more of a hindrance. Jesus says, “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for the rich to enter the kingdom of God” (v24).
This statement is saying that those who trust in money will find it harder to enter the kingdom of God then it is for a camel to go through the eye of a sewing needle. It is impossible without divine intervention.
The world’s system and ways of doing things will bring lemons. Jesus is the way the truth the life, the lemonade. We do not need to live in a lemon world because Jesus paid the price for us to live care free.
