We traveled to Haiti on a missions trip right after a severe tropical storm had passed through. Haiti has been subjected to many hurricane’s and tropical storms leaving flooding, death, mud slides, destroyed crops and homes.
The Hattians are hungry for God. We were honored to share the hope of Jesus and join the vision to bring life and transformation to every man, woman and child.
Over 11 million people live in Haiti, located on the island of Hispaniola with the Dominican Republic. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western hemisphere. 65% of the population lives below the poverty line, and 24% fall below the extreme poverty line.
Despite these challenges, the hope in Haiti is evident. The joy of the people of Haiti is humbling, and God is moving in incredible ways throughout the country.
When we serve others, it brings perspective and takes the focus off us. That meeting, spreadsheet, problem or deadline pales to serving those in need.
We encourage you to get involved in missions. It will change your life. The impact lasts long after you return home.
