Mission trips are a great time to share the love of Jesus, experience salvations, baptisms of the Holy Spirit, healings, awakenings and new birth.
On our trip to Puerto Rico, we were immensely blessed through serving. Puerto Rico is a lush green island in the emerald Caribbean Sea. The average temperature is 70-80 degrees, so you see fishermen all year long.
San Juan is a busy, modern city on the north-east coast of the island. As you venture inland, switchback roads take you up the mountains and into the rainforest. Life moves slower in the many small towns and villages. Puerto Ricans are friendly and welcoming with ready smiles.
Ministering in Puerto Rico is crucial. Thousands of families still need help rebuilding or repairing their homes after devasting hurricanes and tropical storms. Puerto Ricans are so grateful for food supplies and encouragement.
The opportunity to show Christ’s love to people who have had homes destroyed, lost jobs, have family move away, dealt with loss of water and electricity, brings them hope that they are not alone.
If you are called to go and minister in another country it will change your life. If you are called to stay or send people on a mission it will equally change your life. Walking in God’s calling is truly life changing.
Follow the Great Commission – Matthew 28:16-20.
