As the temperatures begin to cool down and we begin to move into the holiday season we want to celebrate Thanksgiving by giving thanks to our Heavenly Father.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 reminds us: “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you”
When I was younger I would spend time writing letters to family in Scotland as they were unable to receive email messages. Weeks later, I would receive a letter back. In one letter my Aunt closed with a P.S. and a P.S.S.
The P.S. was usually a reminder of something not remembered in the body of the letter or closing. The body of the letter would include everything that had been going on in my Aunt’s life, then questions about our family, the weather and latest news. She would usually close quickly realizing the day had gotten away from her. Whether she came back later or quickly added the P.S., it would usually include a thank you or an I love you.
Isn’t that true today. We get so involved in the busyness of the world, the circumstances, the things that consume our time we forget the most important part – the P.S.
As we move to the end of the year we want to begin with the P.S. – thanking God first each and every day for all He has done and is doing in our lives.
Ephesians 5:20 – Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
