On a recent flight, we had an option to purchase a food box. These boxes were filled with healthy snacks meant to keep you fueled and energized during the 3 hour flight.
Sometimes, our day to day activities can leave us feeling anything but fueled and energized.
That is the basis for “Word Fuel”. Each month, we will share scriptures, passages, quotes and testimonies meant to give you a Word of encouragement to strengthen and fill you up. Meditate on the scriptures and make them your revelation!
Word Fuel for Encouragement and Peace:
This is such an encouraging scripture because it talks about what we can face, but also provides the solution and hope thereof.
The Lord states clearly that we will have trouble in this world, but and this is a key point to remember when circumstances seem to take the forefront, BUT, we can still be of good cheer BECAUSE He has overcome the world.
How can we be in peace in trying circumstances? Usually, when something is difficult or we find ourselves defeated or struggling, we can reflect on what we are focusing on and quickly realize our focus has switched from the peace of Jesus to the problem. Jesus is our solution to any problem we face or mountain in our way. When we refocus our minds on Jesus and take heed to his Word (Isaiah 26:3), we will have peace.
You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
By comparing this statement with John 16:33, it can be said that losing our peace is being offended. If we can keep our peace, we can keep from being offended.
These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble.
Jesus said we would have tribulation in this world. He did not say that He was the one bringing the tribulation or what the tribulation would be, but He said it would come. In any tribulation however we can be solutions minded by focusing on Jesus and being of good cheer.
These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble. – John 16:1
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you [a]will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world – John 16:33
Happiness and joy are not dependent on things, but on the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus is our peace and joy.
For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation – Eph 2:14
1Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things – Colossians 3:1-2
We have the power and ability to choose to be at peace, be in love and be joyful. That is power and food that fuels us!
