Have you ever experienced dinner in a luxury restaurant? The owners ensure that the atmosphere, the service, and the food are all drafted perfectly to warrant your $400 per plate experience. These establishments will always hire high-end Executive Chef’s. All of these creative people have their own vision of the presentation and taste which they have meditated on for days.
If you were to ask any Chef, they would tell you that it all happens in the kitchen! In the kitchen, there is a team, ingredients, tools, and a plan. The team is under the direction of the Chef and all are completely focused as they chop, fry, mix, and boil.
Before you know it, it is time to plate the food, and yes, it looks like a Picasso painting. The Chef is delighted, satisfied, and rewarded.
As Believers, we too have a vision that God has placed in our hearts. Like the Chefs, we also have to prepare.
Sometimes, waiting (preparing) seems as though our time is being wasted or lost, but a good Chef will tell you that “being in the kitchen” is the most important part of the process.
Preparation is where faith is strengthened, and the vision proved.
The book of Habakkuk 2:3 tells us clearly:
“The revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it lingers, wait for it: it will certainly come, it will not delay”
