In Matthew 14:28 – Peter walked on the water toward Jesus, but what happened when he took his eyes off of Jesus and looked at his circumstance?
He began to sink…..
Jesus said “O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” Even with little faith Peter walked on water. With that little faith he could have walked to Jesus and back to the boat if he hadn’t considered the negatives around him. It was not his lack of faith but the unbelief that came from looking at the negatives that brought him down.
We can say we believe in our healing and believe that Jesus healed us 2,000 years ago, but when we don’t see a manifestation in our bodies what are we considering? Are we looking at the problem? Magnifying it over the finished work?
In Matthew 17:20 – Jesus didn’t say the reason the disciples couldn’t cast the demon out was because they didn’t have any faith. They did have faith. That’s why they were confused and asked this question. They had cast demons out before – Luke 9:1-6 and expected positive results this time, but they didn’t get them.
There is never anything added to God’s Word. He healed us over 2,000 years ago. We just need to renew our minds to the fact that our bodies are already healed. We are not trying to get God to do something or to move.
Matthew 8:13 – Just as Jesus said to the centurion we can BELIEVE we are healed right now – 13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour. AMEN!
BELIEVE you are healed and have all things through Him.

Was thinking about this type of thing this morning as I read a booklet on healing with the quote from Mark 11…”If you believe and doubt not”. So I was thinking about that because sometimes we are “not there” yet. We sense doubt rolling around in our mind or heart and are not fully convinced it seems. So it seems like the speaking the Word if it’s not mixed with faith doesn’t produce the desired result. But I was thinking on how do you get that missing ingredient (get the doubt-out) and grow fully convinced? I think I have an answer to that but would like to hear your thoughts. What produces that “being fully convinced” like Abraham was…?

Hi Carla,
Great question. If we look at Rom 10:17 – When you’re in doubt, Jesus tells us to refer back to the Word of God just the way He told John the Baptist to do. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word. Not hearing with your head but with your heart. If we have doubt, we must get back into faith that only comes from the Word of God. We must depend on God’s Word more than what our five senses are telling us. The true Word of God must dominate our thinking. God’s Word must be more real to us than anything we can see, taste, hear, smell, or feel.
What produces being fully convinced? If we look at Eve, in Genesis 3, Eve was convinced by a talking snake that she didn’t have everything she needed to make her happy. Adam and Eve were living in a perfect world with no problems. How could Eve be convinced by a snake that she did not have everything?
One factor was that they didn’t really know God, even though they walked and talked to God every day. They did not know God’s true character or how much he loved them. If they did, they would never have believed the lie and eaten the forbidden fruit.
It is the same for us today. It is not enough to get head knowledge or “just” read the Word. We need to know God intimately through His Word to know his Word is truth and life. In 2 Peter 1:19-20 Peter says “We have also a more sure word of prophecy”. What could be better or more trustworthy than seeing and hearing for yourself that Jesus was God. In verse 20, he says that the “more sure word” is the Scriptures. The Scriptures are more sure more reliable than our own senses. When we know God’s Word and know the author of that Word so intimately that nothing can move us off of it, then there is no room for doubt and we can be fully convinced that our Father loves us and His Word is true.
Blessings,
